Sarah Betteridge        

Sarah works as a shoulder physiotherapy specialist in private practice in Christchurch and alongside an orthopaedic shoulder surgeon in his private rooms.

In non-clinical roles Sarah is an independent reviewer for the Health and Disability Commissioner, is a competency assessor for the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand, is a peer reviewer for journal publications and is a member of the NZMPA executive committee.

Sarah qualified as a physiotherapist in England in 2001, where she worked in the NHS and private hospital settings before settling permanently in New Zealand in 2011. In 2018 she began an internship with Dr Angela Cadogan (physiotherapy specialist). She completed her Masters Degree in orthopaedic manipulative therapy in 2019. She was registered as a physiotherapist in 2025.

She has published research in NZJP which investigated predictors for people with subacromial bursitis who would not respond to injection therapy.
